In the past, we were familiar with SEO (Search Engine Optimization), which focused on ranking on Google to drive users to click through to websites. However, today AI systems such as Gemini, ChatGPT, and Perplexity have changed this role by acting as “answer summarizers” instead.
What is AIO/AEO?
It is the process of optimizing website content so that AI systems can read, understand, and extract information to directly “answer” users when they ask questions through AI chatbots.

Basic AIO Techniques for Websites (AIO Strategy)
1) Emphasize direct-answer responses: Develop FAQ sections with clear, straightforward answers to who, what, where, and how questions
2) Implement structured data (Schema Markup): Adding backend code (Schema Markup) helps AI understand that certain content represents elements such as “pricing,” “workflow steps,” or “customer reviews,” making it easier for AI systems to extract and use this information.
3) Develop content based on E-E-A-T principles: AI selects answers from sources that demonstrate expertise and trustworthiness.
4) Conversational Content: Write content in a natural, conversational tone, as people tend to ask AI questions in spoken language rather than formal written language.
