Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) System

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) — also known as multi-tier direct selling — is a marketing and sales model that uses a network of members to distribute products or services. Members not only sell products to customers but can also recruit new members into their own network.

Key Characteristics of MLM

Product/Service Sales
Members are required to buy or sell the company’s products or services (for example, supplements, cosmetics, or consumer goods). A primary source of income is the profit earned from direct sales.

Network Building (Recruitment)
Members can recruit new people into the system. Recruited members become the recruiter’s downline. As a member’s team grows, potential commission income from team sales increases.

Compensation & Rewards
The company defines a clear compensation plan—for example, bonuses from personal sales, team sales bonuses, rank/position bonuses, and other incentives. Income therefore comes from both personal sales and the sales generated by the member’s team.

Multiple Levels
The network is arranged in hierarchical levels—upline (those above you) and downline (those you recruited). This structure enables the possibility of ongoing, residual income as team sales continue.
